MEMBERSHIP SELECTION

In the Spring and Summer of 2024, we solicited volunteers from 15,000 households across Canada to join us in Toronto — travel and accommodation paid — for our National Assembly for Workplace Democracy project, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity run by the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto, with the support of Social Development Canada.
Interested Canadians were asked to complete a pre-survey regarding their experience speaking up at work and, from our pool of respondents, 33 everyday Canadians, aged 18-78, were selected by civic lottery to participate in our citizens’ assembly.
